IS YOUR LEADERSHIP MISSION-FOCUSED?
By Gloria Allen, OCPC District Coordinator

Dear Fellow Leaders,
WE HAVE A MISSION
Matthew 28:18–20
Pathfinders are not just club members — we are a movement with a mission.
Jesus made it clear in Matthew 28:18–20 that His followers are called to go, serve, and make disciples. This was not a suggestion or an afterthought. It was a charge given with purpose and authority.
Pathfinders leaders, along with Pathfinders, recite our mission every week:
“The Advent Message to All the World in This Generation.”
That mission defines why we exist and why leadership matters.
Mission-Focused Leadership
A mission is an important task entrusted to capable people. It requires commitment, preparation, and responsibility. Pathfinder staff\ are not simply volunteers filling a role — they are leaders called to influence, guide, and protect young people while pointing them to Christ.
Pathfinder Basic Staff Training equips leaders to understand that responsibility. It strengthens our ability to serve intentionally, lead confidently, and model Christ-centered living in everything we do.
Mission and Vision
Our mission is the cause — what God has called us to do.
Our vision is the impact — what the world looks like when we live out that mission.
Without vision, leadership loses direction. Pathfinder leaders must be able to see beyond weekly meetings and activities to the long-term spiritual growth of the young people in their care.
A God-Given Calling
The Great Commission is not reserved for pastors or church administrators. It is a God-given calling for every believer — and especially for those who lead. Pathfinder staff are called to live the mission daily, not only in uniform or during club hours, but in character, conduct, and example.
This mission is personal. It happens in homes, schools, churches, and communities. Wherever Pathfinders go, they are ambassadors of Christ.
Equipped to Lead
God does not call without equipping. He empowers, strengthens, and walks with those who commit themselves to His work. Pathfinder Basic Staff Training exists to help leaders grow spiritually, develop leadership skills, and serve with excellence and integrity.
Pathfinder leadership is about more than programs — it is about people. It is about shaping lives, building faith, and preparing young people to stand for Christ in a changing and challenging world.
Answer the Call
Pathfinder Basic Staff Training is an opportunity to recommit to the mission, strengthen leadership, and serve with purpose. As leaders, we are witnesses of God’s goodness and examples of what it means to follow Jesus.
The mission is clear. The calling is real. The need is urgent.
Are you ready to lead with purpose and live the mission?
Answer the call with a resounding yes: Here I am. Ready to serve. SEND ME!
